JANUARY 2008  TEXAS UFO SIGHTING
Witnesses in Stephensville, Texas, saw fighter jets chasing a large, silent aircraft with bright lights flying low and fast.  However, the local air force base denies it saying it could have been an “illusion created by sunset falling on commercial airliners.”  One witness describes it as a flat, seamless metallic object, while another said it was a mile long and 1/2 mile high.  Apparently the object’s lights changed configuration mid-flight as well.  The Mutual UFO Network reports 200 sightings a month, mostly in California, Colorado, and Texas.  They have not yet investigated the Stephensville sightings.
DECEMBER 2007  MYSTERIOUS BLACK SPIRAL IN SKY
Tony and Marie Quigley of North Tyron, Prince Edward Island, Canada, spotted…and video taped…a mysterious black spiral slowly extending to the ground from the sky about their home.  Local airports and the RCMP confirm there was no aircraft in trouble and Environment Canada could offer no explanation for the phenomena, which took 30 minutes to “fall” to the ground or disappear.  The Transportation Board of Canada also confirm it was not an aircraft in distress that they have record of.  Below is a still picture of the Quigley’s video, but to see the actual video and judge for yourself, go to www.cbc.ca/technology/story/2007/12/28/ufo-spiral.html     UPDATE:  Five days before the sighting, a helicopter pilot in Halifax, Nova Scotia, reported an unusual  aerial object which NORAD (North American Aerospace Defense Command) did track but could not explain.  Earlier in December, there were two other reports of UFOs/unusual lights in different regions of Canada.  “Spirals” similar to the ones in Canada have been reported in Iraq and Germany as well.
FUN NOTE: A giant 45 cm giant claw has been found in Germany, perfectly preserved.  It is believed to have belonged to a sea scorpion, which would have been over 8 feet long,  that existed over 390 million years ago.
DECEMBER 2007 PTERODACTYL SIGHTING:
A 29-year-old Wenatchee, WA, man reported that a pterodactyl caused him to total his car on a light pole.  He did test positive for minimal alcohol by police breathalyzer.  Was he just tipsy and seeing things or is it possible he is telling the truth?  Cryptozoologist Loren Coleman claims to hear routine reports of giant flying reptiles sighted in the Olympic National Park’s rainforest in Washington State.  Of note: there have also been sightings reported in the 1960s in California and New York State, in the 1970s in Texas and again in Texas in the 1980s.  UPDATE:  There have been a number of additional sightings within the last 3 months in different areas of Texas of a “large prehistoric-like bird.”
NOVEMBER 2007  DNA PROOF OF BIGFOOT
The History Channel has reported that hair samples, blood, and tissue samples had been taken from a remote cabin in Canada.  The hair sample matched “no known primate and nothing living known to science.”  The tissue DNA was identical to human DNA with the exception of “one nucleotide polymorphism.”  This same nucleotide is shared by chimpanzees, although the DNA was not quite human and not quite primate.
DECEMBER 2007  WOLFBOY FOUND
A boy, named Lyokha by police, was found living in a lair of sticks and leaves in a remote forest in the Kaluga region of Central Russia.  He looks to be about ten years old but seems to be much older according to medical tests performed on him after his ‘rescue.’  Apparently these “mowgli” children (children abandoned by their parents and cared for by animals) are reported on a regular basis in Russia.  After being bathed, having his claw-like nails cut, and being fed, he managed to escape and is believed to be running in the wild once again.
NOVEMBER 2007  WILDMEN / BIGFOOT SPOTTED IN CHINA
Four tourists traveling through the Shennongjia region in central China in a Land Rover claim to have spotted two large apeman-like creatures along the Licha River.  While this area is famous for Bigfoot sightings, there have not been any sightings in recent years.  The two large apemen were apparently standing by the river and did not notice the Land Rover at first, but then fled into the dense forest leaving a pile of wild fruits on the ground.  The witnesses then ran into a local scientist who was doing research in the forest, returning to report the incident to the local authorities, who have not investigated the report yet but plan to publish a full report.

February 2008
A couple in Bishopville, South Carolina, Bob and Dixie Rawson, claim that the legendary Lizard Man attacked their van in the middle of the night.  The Lizard Man has not been sighted since 1968, yet when the Rawson’s woke up that morning, the front fender was chewed up and there were bite marks through the front grill.  Wheels on both sides of the van had been chewed and there was blood in various spots on the vehicle.  The story even made its way to CNN, after which Tom Biscardi (filmmaker and Bigfoot hunter) put together a team of investigators and headed to South Carolina.  After Biscardi’s team investigated the damage done to the van and dispel the claim by local authorities that it was a coyote, saying the jaw pressure had to be much greater than a coyote to have done the damage it did.  He further claims that he believes the Rawson’s are telling the truth and that the damage was most likely done by a “Bigfoot creature.”  He goes on to criticize local authorities for leaving the Rawson’s to deal with this on their own, saying that they are afraid and are unsure of what may still be roaming around their property.  Their cats came up missing around the same time the attack on the van happened, as well.  The local Chamber of Commerce is loving the publicity that has come from the Rawson’s claim, selling “Lizard Man is Back” t-shirts.
April 2008
Bassist/vocalist for death metal group Deicide, Glen Benton, claims to have seen Bigfoot in the middle of “nowhere” in a Florida wood.  Apparently, Benton was driving through the backwoods when a huge, gray “primate of some sort” leapt across the road in front of him, disappearing into the woods.  Benton followed it in his jeep, seeing all the trees broken in its path, leaving behind “a smell like the inside of a dumpster.”  When authorities were called and investigated, tracks were found and the sighting was documented as an official Bigfoot sighting.


April 2008
The BBC has reported that the archaeological dig that is taking place at Stonehenge, the first to take place in more than 40 years, has reached “sockets that once held bluestones” which are similar to those used to form the original structure, but that material needs to be extracted from these holes to perform date testing to know for sure.  Bournemouth University’s Society of Antiquaries, namely the Society’s president, Professor Geoff Wainwright and Professor Tim Darvill.  Professors Wainwright and Darvill are hoping that the bluestones will explain why the 4500 year old landmark was erected.  Along with the stones, as the dig continues, pieces of pottery and ancient tools are being found.  The dig is expected to take two weeks.
