| PRESQUE ISLE LIGHTHOUSE (Alpena) Interesting story of a lighthouse keeper’s wife who went insane from the sheer loneliness of living at the lighthouse. Reportedly, her husband locked her up in a ‘cell’ beneath the lighthouse where she stayed until she died. It is said that her insane shrieking can still be heard coming from the lighthouse. |

| SAGINAW RIVER LIGHTHOUSE (between Saginaw and Flint) The lighthouse was owned by the same family for years. It is believed to be haunted by a lighthouse keeper who, on his deathbed, begged his family to keep the light lit, which they did for many years until the Coast Guard took it over in 1980. Since that time, heavy footsteps are reported being heard on the iron staircase going to the top of the lighthouse, yet no one is ever there. It is believed to be the keeper who died in the building. |

| THUNDER BAY ISLAND LIGHTHOUSE (near Alpena) This lighthouse is haunted by “Morgan,” a former keeper who is rumored to have died of loneliness because of the desolation of the location of the lighthouse. The lighthouse is so remote, that it was automated in 1980 due to lack of finding anyone who was willing to stay there to light it. The island is now deserted. |
