Intelligent Haunt: This is “who” we get EVPs and distorted photo images and orbs from, sometimes in motion. There are many reasons why these hauntings take place and they can be benevolent or mischievous depending on their reason they are haunting a place: Intelligent Haunts Characteristics: Residual Haunt: This is when a scene from the past seems imprinted on a specific place and, when witnessed, seems to play like an impression of an event that is imprinted in time, a movie that’s been looped, the same activity/same time each time it happens. The energies involved in this kind of a haunt rarely interact with their surroundings or with living people because the spirit itself is not even there, its only the energy from the event/emotion. Inhuman Haunt: This is what is more commonly referred to as a “demon.” Is usually very hostile, initially is similar to an intelligent haunt in that it has a perceived intelligence and can interact with the living. There has to be an invitation for this type of energy/entity to invade a household or possess a person, even if that invitation is inadvertent (through Ouija board, seances, magic ceremonies, undisciplined psychic experimentation, habitually conversing with the unseen/imaginary friends). Inhuman Haunt Characteristics: Poltergeists: There are different theories as to what these energies are and where they come from. They usually last a few months, sometimes years. Moving residences doesn’t help, it follows which suggests its not connected to an environment but instead is connected to a person. Begins suddenly, ends suddenly and is the rarest of hauntings. | * it was once their home and they want you to leave * someone in the household sees them/senses them/speaks with them so, because they are recognized and not ignored, they want to stay * they may be “attached” to a piece of furniture or an object in the household * they may be looking for someone or maybe they refuse to acknowledge they are dead |
| * most like a human haunting - they are aware of their surroundings *tries to communicate * responsive/interactive to external conditions/activities/people *can move small objects, usually up to 10 lb * seems to have limited human emotions/personalities * seems to interact with living people * may appear visually in human form *seem to be attached to particular places *cant be rid by religious provocation (they arent demons) * most often appear 11 p.m. - 4 a.m. (takes too much energy to appear when it is light out) |
