Everybody dreams when they sleep at night. Though they may not be remembered,
dreams are created in out minds all the time. Some people even believe that they can see
events or occurrences in their dreams before they occur. Dreams have always intrigued me
and I have actually had some personal phenomena myself. In most of these cases Déjà Vu is
tied in with the feeling of knowing what just happened ahead of time. Many people have
spent their whole lives studying dreams and what they can mean.
Déjà Vu is the feeling that you have been to a place or seen something like what you are
currently seeing. It is an eerie feeling that can’t really be described. One must experience it
to understand the strange and creepy feeling experienced. Nobody has ever been able to
figure out why this happens, but a lot of people have tied it to dreams.
Premonitions are a feeling or vision that something is going to happen in the future. Many
people have had dreams about terrible things that later in time “come true”. The dreams may
not be exact depictions of the events that are going to occur but people who study dreams
have a system of interpreting dreams. Certain objects or symbols represent feelings or
emotions. While none of these things can be proven to be true, they seem to go very well with
what people are experiencing.
I have personally experienced Déjà Vu multiple times throughout my life. The feeling of “I
have been here before” or “I have done this before” is the main description of the feeling I
get. I know that I have had many dreams that have turned into real life experiences. I cannot
recall the specific events or occurrences, but I know that I have had dreams that have then
happened in real life.
Dreams in general are an amazing. The brain is capable of doing things that we as a
human race cannot even fathom. This is why I want to study Psychology as my major. It is a
science that will never end and we will never know everything about the brain. So next time
you have a dream about a loved one or a familiar place, know that you could be seeing an
event that is yet to come.
