BUSINESS, HOUGHTON LAKE, MI November 8, 2008

We were called in on this case because the front office secretary reported some instances of
hearing voices when no one was around, and hearing knocking in the walls where there was no
one on the other side of the wall.  Another coworker in the office reported an incidence of a
painting falling off a wall for no reason when they were housed in another office on the property.
The secretary’s reports were experienced in their current location on the same property. The
activity was fairly minimal and we didn’t expect there to be much evidence but we were in for a
huge surprise.

BRIEF HISTORY:
This particular office building is on the same location as the old Fountain Hotel, which was tore
down and the current owners put in the office building and a large parking lot shared by all the
businesses in this strip mall-type of business offices.  The main home/office building that was
used by the Fountain Hotel owners remains standing, has been remodeled and is at the back
end of the parking lot, with renters living in it currently.  We did not have access to that particular
building on this investigation.

PHENOMENA REPORTED:
*knocking/tapping in the walls
*hearing an older female’s voice
*minimal objects moving on their own

EQUIPMENT USED:
Sperry EMF meter; KII EMF meter, T2 type thermocouple; digital cameras; Sony camcorder
with night vision; analog voice recorder.

WEATHER/ASTROLOGICAL READINGS:
Temperature outside was 37.9 degrees F that night with 84% humidity, wind was at 0.0 mph.
Moon phase was a waxing gibbous that night and rose at 2:45 p.m./set at 1:50 a.m.  Solar
xrays were normal and geomagnetic fields were quiet.

METER READINGS:
As far as temperature goes, there was a steady temperature throughout the building between
64 and 68 degrees F.   However, we had quite a panoply of EMF readings from 0 to higher
than the EMF meter would
register.  When we did the baseline sweep of the offices, the readings ranged from 0.1 to 0.8,
with a few exceptions.  In office number 3 (see blueprint),  along one wall, the EMF readings
were higher than the Sperry could measure, but they were steady in one spot only, directly
around an older style alarm clock that
the owner later told me had been rewired.  This was only within an inch or two of the clock; once
we started to move out of that range, the readings dropped back to baseline.
Also, in the conference room, under one corner of the conference table, EMF readings were
30.0 and up.   These readings were right by an electrical outlet that was placed in
the floor and were steady and unchanging as long as we were under the table and on the floor
by the outlet.  Above this area, the readings were normal.  However, when the basement was
being evaluated for baseline readings, in a corner there was a cluster of electrical cables that
were recently redone but were giving off EMF readings that were immeasurable.  This area
was directly under the front office area. There were some interesting readings in the front office
not connected to the cables in the basement.    There were multiple fluctuations that were not
stable and moved around, went up and down, appeared and disappeared out of nowhere.

CORROBORATING EVIDENCE:
For ease of reading and documentation, I will list our meter readings below by location,
reading, and time that they were taken, including any personal experiences.

9:15 p.m.        Front office:  EMF 0.8 to 0.9 near floor between copy machine and desk (see
blueprint).  They fluctuated (without investigator moving the EMF meter) from 1.2 down to 0.9,
then up to 1.5 and then 2.7, then dropped to 1.0 then 0.4, where it stayed.
9:35         As Jim and Lisa moved from the front office across the hall to the opening of the front
kitchen, near the coffee pot, both investigators saw a tiny red light at exactly the same time in
the doorway to the kitchen.  There were no security lights, coffee pot lights, etc, that were red or
were on at the time.  The other two investigators behind the two who saw the lights never saw a
thing.
9:37         Front kitchen:  Temperature went from 68 to 73, then within 3 minutes had gone back
to 68 in the same spot, in the doorway to the kitchen entry.
10:00        Conference room:  Decided to do a short EVP session with the entire team sitting
quietly in the conference room and Kathy and Lisa doing EVP questions.  We did this because
the size of the building was too small to have another team in another location while we were
doing EVPs in the conf. room.  Almost immediately, the K2 meter lit up to 2.5 (within one
minute of putting the K2 down on the table).  After approximately 5 minutes of asking questions,
Kathy asked “do you know Debbie?” and the K2 lit up to red, then dropped back down to
nothing.  At the same time, Kathy saw a little red light behind Lisa near the floor, and Lisa and
Charlotte heard four sharp and loud knocks from presumably the front door (which is glass) but
no one else in the room heard them.  Lisa got up to investigate because it was thought the
police may have stopped due to flashlights in the building, but there wasn’t anyone at the front
door or in the parking lot. The EVP session was stopped but the meters were kept running, as
was the analog voice recorder and the handycam.  When reviewed, the tape recorder did not
pick up the banging Lisa and Charlotte heard, but when we reviewed the handycam recording,
the knocking is very faintly heard.  On the analog recorder, we got an amazing EVP (to be
posted soon) in answer to the question “do you know Debbie?”  All of these things happened in
less than one  minute.  The EVP session was resumed, but was uneventful.
10:20         Hallway:  EMF went from 0.1 to 1.0 to 0.1 (this happened twice) in a matter of
seconds. This could have been movement of the meter itself. At the same time, the
thermocouple recorded a temp of 69-70 in the same spot (baseline 64-68 degrees).  This is
only one to two degrees and could be fluctuating simply because of body heat.
10:25         Front office:  Slight EMF spike from 0.1 to 1.2 then back to 0.3 in center of room.
We decided to do a silent period in the front office and simply take pictures, run the handycam,
and take meter readings concentrating on the area of the front office where we had slight
spikes in EMF readings.  At 10:35, the readings went from 0.1 up to 0.6, 0.7, 1.2, 1.6.
11:00        Front office:  We began another EVP session with the handycam on the K2, Jim with
the Sperry EMF meter, Lisa with the analog recorder, Kathy with the thermocouple.  Jim was
standing in the same spot between the copy machine and the desk, where all the EMF
fluctuations were recorded. At this time, they went up and down, between 0.3 to 1.6.
11:03        Front office:  Jim got an EMF spike of 3.3, then immediately went back to 0.9 without
any movement.  At 11:05, the K2 went all the way to red, Sperry EMF went up to 3.0 and Jim
felt something that made his entire body tingle electrically (although he did not feel cold) and he
started to shake all over his
body, and he said he felt like he had to cry, then began to cry.  He had to sit down and it took
him at least 30 minutes to completely calm down.  He has no idea what happened, he didn’t
feel anyone touching him and
he never felt any temperature fluctuations nor did we measure any with the thermocouple.
There were no EVPs found, nor did any of this activity seem to effect any of the rest of us in the
room at the time.  By 11:09, EMFs had gone back down to 0.6 and never went back up in this
area again.   (NOTE:  For investigators, we do have this on both analog recording and Sony
handycam, if you would like to review it.  Please call me or email me if this is the case, we
would welcome any suggestions of what you think this could have been.  We would appreciate
the help.)
11:45        Front kitchen:  EMF readings stayed between 0.3 to 0.4 with a temperature of 67 to
68 degrees F.  We measured all around the fridge and sink, etc, and nothing was giving off
abnormally high EMFs.
12:00        Front kitchen:  the K2 jumped up to orange, the Sperry measured a 1.2, 1.4, 2.2,
which are two completely different readings, but that’s what we got.  A couple of minutes later,
we got a temp reading of 64 degrees F and the K2 weakly went up to 2.5, then temp shot up to
73, then immediately went back to baseline.  No EVPs or personal experiences in this room at
this time.

VIDEO:
Other than the video of the K2 meter shooting up during the above experiences, there is no
paranormal evidence documented on video.

AUDIO:
We did get the knockings on the front door faintly on handycam but not on the analog, and we
got an amazing EVP in answer to “do you know Debbie?” that I believe would be classified as
a Class A EVP, it will be posted shortly.

PICTURES:
We took many, many pictures, but nothing abnormal whatsoever showed up in any of them.

SUMMARY:
We were extremely surprised by the activity in this building.  We didn’t really expect to have
much happen because there weren’t many experiences told to us from the coworkers, but we
will be going back to do a second investigation before the end of February 2009.

UPDATE:
Approximately 3-4 days after our investigation, I received a phone call from one of the office
staff stating that she had been sitting on the floor (in the above area between the copy machine
and desk) doing some filing.  In a picture to be posted soon, you will see a wood shelf (hollow,
very light weight) leaning up against the wall next to the filing cabinet that holds the copy
machine.  This staff member was sitting on the floor doing some filing, leaning on her left hand
(which was directly in front of where this board was leaning against the wall, approximately 2
feet from where her hand was) when the board tipped backwards away from the wall and
slammed down on her hand and arm up to the elbow, bruising her very badly.  When I spoke
with her, she was shocked at how it happened because she was too far from the board to have
bumped it, and the filing cabinet does not fit tight to the wall so her opening the bottom drawer
would not have vibrated the floor or the wall enough to make the shelf tip backward.  During our
entire investigation of that area the weekend before, with all of our movement around that area,
the shelf never moved, nor had it moved in the 3-4 days between our investigation and the
incident of it falling. Plus, the board was far enough from her, in order for it to have hit her entire
arm, it had to move 2 feet from the wall onto her hand/arm.  When she was retelling the story,
she said it felt like there was a weight on the board and she had to pry her hand/arm out from
under it.  There will be a picture posted of the bruising, as well as the skin tears she had from
prying her arm out from under it.

Also, about a week after the above incident, we
heard from the owner that the business next to the
office
we investigated (but in the same building) found out
we were there and came clean that there were doors
and
windows opening and closing on their own, banging in
the
walls, and the entire staff refused to go to the
basement,
stating it was creepy and they felt like they were being
watched.  We will be doing an investigation in that
office in
                                                                    the next month as well.
CASE FILE #:  2008-2

We asked "do you like Debi?" and we got a hit on the
KII to green, and then you'll hear the answer we
received; "yes."

First we asked if there was anyone there and if they
could tell us their name. After the question was asked,
the chair squeaked. Then one of us says "hello?" and
then you will hear an elderly womans voice say
"Gwendaline" very clearly and then if you listen hard,
you can hear "Ford" under the investigators voice
after her name is said.

Under the investigators voice, you will hear what
sounds to be a female screaming as if in distress.

Again, you can distinctively hear a women screaming
in the background behind the investigators voice.

First you'll hear an investigator say "I just saw a red light." There was
nothing that red light could have come from. Then you'll hear a loud
'pop-sizzle' sound that wasn't audible during the investigation. Then
you'll hear the investigator ask a question, then very faintly four
knocks are heard. Only two investigators out of five heard the knocks.

This is the third scream that is very clear.
